Preparing a Windows Server for installation

What to confirm before installing Syspeace Service on a server or Syspeace Console on a workstation.

Syspeace v3 and v4

A short checklist before you install:

  • Confirm the Windows Server version is supported. Syspeace v4 requires Windows Server 2008 R2 or later. Syspeace v3 supports Windows Server 2003 and later. See the version comparison if you’re not sure which generation fits your server.
  • Confirm administrative rights. Installing Syspeace Service and configuring audit logging both require administrative access to the server.
  • Decide where Syspeace Console will run. Console is typically installed on an administrator’s own workstation, separate from the protected server, though there’s no technical requirement forcing that separation.
  • Confirm outbound internet connectivity. Both the server running Syspeace Service and the workstation running Syspeace Console need outbound internet access to reach the Syspeace relay for remote management.

Once this is confirmed, continue with enabling Windows audit logging and verifying your downloaded installer’s checksum before installing.
