Windows Server frequently hosts more than one sign-in surface on the same machine — a mail server, a web application, a database — each with its own authentication path that can be targeted independently of the operating system’s own sign-in.
Where Syspeace applies today
Syspeace’s verified, supported sign-in surfaces beyond general Windows authentication include:
- Exchange Server SMTP mail accounts
- Outlook Web Access (OWA)
- SharePoint sign-ins
- Microsoft SQL Server sign-in attempts
- Microsoft Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) sign-ins
- Website sign-in attempts, using the optional Web Detector — available in Syspeace v3, and available as a beta feature in Syspeace v4
This list reflects what Syspeace currently supports, not every web server, framework, protocol, database, or authentication provider in general. If a service isn’t listed here, its support isn’t verified — see the FAQ or contact support if you need to confirm applicability to a specific application.
How it works
The detection and blocking model is the same one described on the product page: Syspeace Service watches for repeated failed sign-in attempts against a supported surface and blocks the offending address once a configured rule is met. Syspeace v4 blocks directly through the Windows Filtering Platform; Syspeace v3 blocks through Windows Firewall or IP Security Policy.
